Voting Information for Persons with Disabilities | Go Back

Voting is a right of all adult U.S. citizens. The Federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) of 2002 mandated expanding and improving access to and participation in the voting process by individuals with disabilities. The Office of Elections (OE) in collaboration with DCAB obtained HAVA grants to ensure the accessibility of the election process for individuals with disabilities in the 2004, 2006, & 2008 elections. An election specialist within the Office of Elections has been hired to promote access in the 2008 elections. For more information, contact the Office of Elections at 808-453-8386.
