Under the umbrella name "Drive Safely, Arrive Alive," the State of Hawaii's highway safety campaign focuses on 14 areas of concern related to traffic safety that were determined to be of the highest importance to Hawaii residents in a recent statewide survey.

The state Department of Transportation enlisted the sponsorship of Island businesses and organizations to combine resources and coordinate existing traffic safety programs across the state in a cohesive, organized campaign. It utilizes TV, radio and newspaper advertising developed and implemented to raise the awareness of Island residents about highway safety issues, as well as community-based campaigns designed to further extend the reach of messages.
