  • How many and what harbors does Harbors Division have jurisdiction over?

Ten (10) harbors:

Kauai District Nawiliwili Harbor, and Port Allen Harbor
Oahu District Honolulu Harbor, Kalaeloa Barbers Point Harbor, and Kewalo Basin
Maui District Kahului Harbor, Kaunakakai Harbor, and Kaumalapau Harbor
Hawaii District Hilo Harbor, and Kawaihae Harbor

  • Where can I find shipping lines (cargo ships, not cruise liners) that will take on passengers?

Currently, Columbus Lines is the only regularly scheduled line calling at Honolulu that takes on passengers.  Agent for Columbus Lines is Waldron Steamship, (808) 545-2466.

  • Where can I register/pay for my (small) boat registration?

The Boating Branch is no longer with the Department of Transportation, Harbors Division. They are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Boating and Ocean recreation, 333 Queen Street, Honolulu, HI  96813.  The phone number is (808) 587-1963.
